These problems can all be resolved at 1066 Hypnotherapy situated just outside of Battle, East Sussex.

Specific sexual problems can be the most difficult things to seek help for and to talk about and, because of this, many women suffer in silence over a long period of time. Despite our so-called liberated society there is a still a 'taboo' atmosphere surrounding problems of a sexual nature. They nevertheless exist and are, in fact, surprisingly common in women of all ages.

If you have had all possible physical reasons for your sexual problem checked out and you have been given the 'all clear' BUT you still have a problem, it makes sense that the cause of your specific problem is most likely therefore to have a psychological or emotional cause, or at least a strong psychological connection, as indeed most sexual problems often do!

Most, if not all, women who suffer with a sexual problem or dysfunction, whether that is an inability to come or have an orgasm; or a fear or strong dislike of sex; or vaginismus; or low libido; or something else; also have other problems such as low confidence or low self-esteem; or a fear of being judged or a dislike of being put on the spot or a worry about others' opinions of you for example - these issues are signs of social anxiety. Then again, perhaps your sexual problem has got you down to the point of you suffering from depression which only serves to make matters worse.

Further information on the most common sexual problems which I am consulted for is listed below:

Vaginismus ~ This is the medical name for a very painful condition in which the vaginal muscles contract involuntarily (meaning you cannot control it) making penetrative sex either very difficult and painful or impossible. Vaginismus can be primary where a woman has never been able to have sexual intercourse or secondary. Primary vaginismus is often discovered during teenage years when you may have been unable to use tampons or have an internal examination due to the pain or indeed the fear of pain. Secondary Vaginismus is where sex has been possible in the past but has since become very painful or impossible. Whichever is the case hypnotherapy, specifically 'Pure' Hypnoanalysis, can help you.

Low Libido/Low Sex Drive ~ This is also known as Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder and is the most common sexual problem for women. Your libido or sex drive is what determines basically how often you want sex. This disorder can be characterised as either 'general' where you have a general lack of sexual desire or it can be 'situational' where you still have sexual desires but just not for your current partner. The problem may also be classed as either 'life-long', where you have always lacked or had low sexual desire, or it can be 'acquired' where you have previously enjoyed "normal" sex drives but you now have a problem. A low libido can be an indication of many factors, such as boredom in your relationship, or a dis-interest in your current partner, or stress, or depression, or a reaction to some medications, or a slow recovery following an illness and so on. However, if none of these factors particularly apply to you and you are concerned or unhappy with your low sex drive hypnoanalysis can help you. Hypnoanalysis can of course help you if you are also suffering from stress or depression. Obviously hypnotherapy cannot help you if the problem is solely related to your current partner or relationship but in all other circumstances it can!

Anorgasmia/Orgasmic Dysfunction ~ This is the term for when a woman cannot come or achieve orgasm during sexual intercourse or foreplay. As with vaginismus, this problem can either be primary or secondary. Primary anorgasmia is where you have never been able to come/have an orgasm. In this situation it is quite common for the rest of sex to be exciting and pleasurable despite the fact that you do not have an orgasm. Secondary inorgasmia is where you have previously been able to achieve orgasm but now are unable to do so. Whilst having an orgasm or not appears to have no influence over whether you can get pregnant or not, the inability to come tends to lead to a lower desire to have sex generally and can be frustrating, especially in cases where you have experienced orgasm in the past. As with a low libido, anorgasmia can be caused by some medications, illnesses and so on but if this does not apply to you then hypnoanalysis can help you to overcome your problem.

Fear/Strong Dislike of Sex ~ The fear of sexual intercourse is termed 'coitophobia' which is a persistent and abnormal fear of sex. This problem is also known as sexual aversion disorder. This can be due to a fear of failure in some way during sex and this can lead to erectile dysfunction in men and anorgasmia in women. It may also be due to a fear of experiencing pain, especially when thinking of having sex for the first time, or if you are associating current sex with a previous time when you did have pain. Or you could have enjoyed a 'normal' sex life for years and suddenly "out of the blue" you develop a fear or strong dislike of sex for no apparent reason. Women who suffer from this problem tend to try to avoid all forms of intimacy - kissing, cuddling etc - because of the fear that it might lead to an expectation of full sex.

There are other problems which women may suffer from such as:

  • Frigidity, otherwise known as Female Sexual Arousal Disorder, where a woman does not get properly aroused during foreplay and sex;
  • Dyspareunia where a woman experiences pain during or after sex;
  • Female Hyperactive Sexual Desire Disorder which is the opposite to having a low sex drive and is when a woman almost constantly desires sex.
In cases of frigidity and dyspareunia there is very often an 'overlap', firstly between these two conditions and secondly with a low libido or vaginismus and anorgasmia - not surprisingly - so it can often be difficult to pin-point an actual 'diagnosis' of your particular problem. This doesn't matter much for therapy purposes though, as all conditions can be helped immensely and, in most cases, permanently resolved with hypnoanalysis.

Any sexual problem may be brought on by or exacerbated by anxiety, stress and depression or, indeed, having a specific sexual problem can worsen any of those other conditions, especially depression. In fact, women with sexual problems almost always have other issues, most commonly social anxiety.

Whatever, your specific problem, the only way to properly resolve it is to undergo a course of 'Pure' Hypnoanalysis - unfortunately, because the causes of sexual problems are usually deep-seated and long-standing, 'ordinary' hypnotherapy (usually referred to as Suggestion Therapy or Clinical Hypnosis) will not be effective except for in a very few rare cases and then only for a very short period of time.

Sexual problems, frigidity, vaginismus, low sex drive, anorgasmia, fear of sex all treated at 1066 Hypnotherapy in Battle, Hastings, Rye, Bexhill, Eastbourne, Heathfield, East Sussex & Kent'Pure' Hypnoanalysis is not ordinary hypnotherapy - it is practised only by current members of the IAPH and successfully treats thousands of clients every year. It is the most effective, successful, rapid and empowering therapy known in the world today for completely and permanently resolving all manner of sexual and other problems that have a psychological or emotional element to them.
