Treating problems with drink & drugs using hypnosis and hypnotherapy at 1066 Hypnotherapy
covering East Sussex, Battle, Hastings, Bexhill, Rye, Heathfield, Hailsham, Eastbourne, Crowborough, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Ashford and Kent.

Problems with drink & drugs helped with hypnosis & hypnotherapy in Battle, Hastings, Bexhill, Rye, Heathfield, Eastbourne, East Sussex & Kent, UK If you need help with a problem with drink or drugs, hypnosis and hypnotherapy can help you. I have successfully treated a variety of clients with all sorts of problems, past or present, with alcohol and drugs use at my practice just outside of Battle, East Sussex and covering Hastings, Rye, Bexhill, Heathfield, Hailsham, Eastbourne, Crowborough, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Ashford and the surrounding areas of East Sussex and Kent.

Whatever your problem is with alcohol or drugs, whether it's addiction, binge drinking, being an alcoholic/alcoholism or some other aspect that you are not happy with, it will help you to know that the drink or the coke or heroin or pot or cannabis are actually NOT the problems in themselves. Yes, you may well have come to rely on them, need them, want them in order for you to cope (for instance) but the real problem is, in fact, something else.

The real problem is your underlying, unresolved bottled up feelings which make you feel less than happy and comfortable about yourself and often feel unable to cope - perhaps you feel anxious or lack confidence or worry about what other people think of you a lot or have low self-esteem for instance. Or maybe you're suffering from stress overload and need a temporary escape or some relief.

Now, this may 'fly in the face' of everything you may know or have been told in the past about drink and drug problems but just think about it for a couple of minutes, be honest with yourself and consider if one or two of those things apply to you before you dismiss it completely and then read on if it's starting to make sense to you.

Whatever's really behind it for you, the 'misuse' of alcohol or drugs is actually a 'coping mechanism', something you use to help you to cope with life - to make yourself feel better. Unfortunately though, after the temporary relief or oblivion or buzz (however you look at it) has worn off, you will still have the same old bottled up feelings which you will feel the need to escape from again at some point. Not only that, but you are likely to be a fair bit poorer and less healthy than you could be!

You are also very likely to feel guilty about what you are doing (for a variety of reasons) which only serves to make you feel worse and this will make doubly sure that you stay in a circle of avoiding your feelings by drinking or taking drugs - the worse you feel, the more you drink or take drugs, so the worse you feel, so the more you drink or take drugs........

You may have sought help through, say, Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narconon or another rehab clinic perhaps, all of which may help you to cope with your problem with varying degrees of success BUT, even if you are able to cope better with your drink or drugs problem, you will still have the underlying bottled up feelings that are the real problem. You also face a future of always being a "recovered" alcoholic or drug addict which has the implication that there is always a chance that you could "fall off the wagon" or relapse at any time. Unfortunately this is a reality as, unless you deal with your bottled up emotions and underlying emotional conflicts, the chance of relapsing will always be there.

Just like people who suffer from fears, phobias, anxiety and similar, if you are suffering from any problem with drink or drugs you will often feel that you have "something inside of you but outside of your own control". In order to properly resolve your problem with alcohol or drugs you need to resolve your bottled up feelings which are what's really behind it all.
