Cancer
is a multifaceted degenerative disease and is usually caused by a
breakdown (to varying degrees) of our physical, mental and emotional
'self'. From the evidence available, the main causes are thought to
be metabolic (dietary) disorders or deficiencies, lifestyle choices,
stress (of any kind) and emotional conflict; this last factor often
involves a significant trauma or loss (which is usually unresolved)
within two years prior to the initial diagnosis or it can involve
the 'bottling up' of subconscious anxiety for many years. There is
also evidence to suggest that an inability to express emotion effectively
may be a contributing factor.
Hans
Selye, a well-respected scientist who developed a type of cancer with
an extremely low 'cure' rate and who overcame his disease, stated
that ".....the great majority of physical illnesses have in part
some psychosomatic origin" - in other words, there is a connection
to the mind where illness is concerned and the thoughts and beliefs
and feelings (whether conscious or subconscious) that you have in
your mind can and DO have an affect on your body.
As
a cancer survivor, I have a special insight into what it feels like
---- to be diagnosed with cancer ---- to feel like you have 'lost
control' of your body ---- to seek out alternative and complementary
treatments ---- to undergo chemotherapy ---- to fight back to health,
on all levels ---- to find the best ways of maintaining that health.
Also,
from my own experience, I am only too aware of the role that bottled
up, unresolved feelings and cognitive problems (thinking 'errors') played in the formation of my
own disease and I would add that, in my opinion, these are the most
significant factors involved. I came to this conclusion having successfully
completed my own course of Pure Hypnoanalysis
and releasing and resolving my own bottled up feelings and then going on to do further work on my cognition. Once I had
done all of this, I began to understand the damage that holding on to unresolved emotions,
together with daily thinking errors, did to me. You might feel that you don't have many, if any, bottled
up emotions to deal with and/or maybe you don't have too many cognitive problems, so this isn't a problem for you. I had
exactly the same ideas once but, as I discovered, this isn't actually
true!
I
offer a special five week/session programme for cancer patients. This used to be known as 'The Road
to Health' but has recently been re-named "The Cancer F**K Off Programme" by its creator Stephen Chan who felt that a more direct approach was required! The course is based upon the processes pioneered by Dr O. Carl
Simonton. Dr Simonton developed a model of emotional support for the
treatment of cancer patients: this approach introduces the concept
that your state of mind can influence your ability to survive cancer. It also includes pertinent and relevant parts of "The Thrive Programme", a specialised cognitive training programme devised by Rob Kelly, the head of the IAPH research and training and who has over 20 years of clinical experience.
"The Cancer F**K Off Programme" is a whole person approach to cancer
treatment which tackles your individual physical symptoms and emotional
problems and beliefs - covering both your ability to recover and your
capacity to resolve your emotional problems.
Each step of the process is designed to help to restore
your physical, mental and emotional balance which is essential to
your recovery.
"The Cancer F**K Off Programme", amongst other things, will:
